In India“80% of the beneficiaries are drawn from top 30% income groups of urban areas. There is very little democratization of education opportunities.

A college student’s initiative "Bharat Calling” started as pilot in year 2009 is now a youth led revolution for inclusive education. The founder student 2009-11 batch M.A in Social Entrepreneurship student of TISS Mumbai along with his team is now scaling up the initiative. This program aims at makeover of the rural schools (each connected to 35 villages) from “Delivery to Transformative (development) context”. It aims to bring out solution at policy level through gradual changes.

“Bharat Calling” helps increase the representation of underprivileged children in the poorest parts of India in the country's top universities. The program includes aptitude testing, career counseling, tutoring and mentoring. The organization focuses on community organizing and training and on executing a volunteer program that focuses on coaching and mentoring the students. Our pilot program in Hoshangabad district of M.P, among the poorest parts of India, helped dramatically improve the number of students applying. Initiative successfully enrolled students from more than 280 villages in various top most universities of India first time in the history of the area.
